11 x 11 Resource for Educators Launch & Drop In Workshop

Drop in between 4.30 and 6.30pm to celebrate the launch of our 11 x 11 Resource for Educators, create your own Pedagogy Zine and explore the possibilities of the DIY sketchbook.

The 11 x 11 Resource for Educators comprises six parts, with contributions from artists who were part of 11 x 11: a programme of 26 CPD workshops that brought together teachers and educators between 2019 and 2023. 

The resource explores how we can use creative practice and cultural learning to challenge inequalities and value a range of lived experience. Activities, prompts and inspiration encompass creative writing, collaborative practice, play, sketchbook practice, visual literacy and critical thinking, and can be used in schools, youth settings, and arts and cultural institutions. 

As well as picking up a copy of the resource, artist Jasmin Bhanji, one of the contributors, invites you to make a DIY sketchbook and explore its possibilities for experimentation and play. 

With our Civic Fellow Anahí Saravia Herrera, create a Pedagogy Zine, get inspired to produce zines in your setting, and find out about Cubitt Community Press, our risograph printer currently in residence.

11 x 11 was commissioned by Islington Council as part of 11 by 11: their commitment that each child who goes to school in the borough has access to 11 outstanding cultural experiences by Year 11.
