Derek Horton

Derek Horton is a writer and curator. He writes about art and music as a regular contributor to books and art magazines, and co-founded the online magazine Soanyway which he co-edits. After working on adventure playgrounds and community arts projects in the late-1970s, he taught for many years in higher education and was Director of Research at Leeds Metropolitan University’s School of Contemporary Art and Graphic Design. He has been Visiting Professor at the School of Art, Birmingham City University, and was a director of &Model gallery in Leeds from 2013 to 2017. He recently curated a major exhibition for Touchstones Rochdale funded by Yale University’s Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, and is currently advising on a planned touring exhibition of contemporary art and underground press archives, revealing countercultural connections in creative responses to social and political oppression between SWANA countries and the Global North across recent decades.

Raja Moussaoui, Greater London Authority

Raja trained and worked as an architect and journalist in cities across Canada, UK, Italy, China and Australia. She now works as a public servant at the Greater London Authority (GLA). As the GLA's Head of Community Engagement, she led a team working to increase civic participation for underserved communities across London, including through the Mayor's Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm, and through collaborating closely with policy experts and civil society working in migration, equalities and financial hardship. Raja also led the Mayor's Culture at Risk Office, rapidly expanding the programme during the COVID-19 pandemic into a multi-year portfolio of policy and programmes aimed at protecting London's vital cultural and community spaces.

Giulia Shah
Giulia Shah is an artist and artist development curator based in London. She is the founder of Residency 11:11, a queer artist-run initiative committed to creating sustainable opportunities for artists to foster research, reflect on their practice, and connect with peers. Alongside running Residency 11:11, Giulia has held various roles across operations, production, and programming in London and Amsterdam. She was the Deputy Director at Blackhorse Workshop CIC and is currently working across programme, production, and digital strategy at TfL’s Art on the Underground. She holds an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts and a BA in Fine Art Photography from the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Alongside serving as a trustee at Cubitt, she is also a board member at Drawing Room, London.
