Programme Events Past Events Cubitt Community Press Think In #4 Cubitt is building on Islington’s history of radical publishing with plans to create a community press—a space to share stories, document alternative histories, and support social justice projects. We believe in owning the tools of creation and making things happen in and for our communities. In this fourth session, we will build on our conversations and newly established riosograph ethos. We’ll discuss the possibility of working on a collective community publishing project and the possibility of creating a community newsletter or newspaper together. We’re looking for folks interested in collectively run publishing projects, so come join us to help shape Cubitt’s community press! We’re particularly excited to meet those who live, work, or have a connection to Islington. If that sounds like you, please book a special Islington community ticket! A vegan meal will be served after the session. FAQ - WHO ARE ISLINGTON RESIDENTS / COMMUNITY? We welcome everyone who is currently living, working and organising in Islington (and it’s neighbouring areas). However, we also know that many folks who have historically grown up in the area have had to move due to gentrification and the changes to neighbourhoods, so if you have a close relationship with the borough, local knowledge, generational ties to this community, you’re very welcome to join us! For example - you could be part of a group that organises in Islington and live elsewhere or someone who grew up here and no longer lives in the area etc. We want this to be a local project so are interested in folks with a relationship with the general Islington area, but if you’re from surrounding areas/boroughs/neighbourhoods - you are also welcome! If you have any questions, suggestions on who to invite or would like to share your relationship to the borough, please get in touch by emailing: [email protected] Booking for this event has now closed.
