As trustees of Cubitt Artists, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Seán Elder as Interim Programme Director.

Seán joined Cubitt in 2023 as the 14th Curatorial Fellow, bringing a rigorous and culturally attuned curatorial approach that has deeply resonated across the organisation. Their work has exemplified what it means to programme with heart and ambition, to think alongside artists, and to attend to the critical questions of our time with fresh perspective and imagination. In stepping into this interim leadership role, they bring not only continuity but also a spirit of inquiry and integrity that speaks to Cubitt’s values as an artist-led space.

This is a moment of transition, one we approach with confidence in Seán’s vision and stewardship. As Interim Programme Director, they will be supporting the team and wider Cubitt community in holding space for experimentation and collective work — values that remain at the heart of our mission. We are grateful to Seán for stepping into this role and look forward to working closely with them over the coming months as we shape Cubitt’s next chapter.
