Cubitt Communities Saturday Socials Saturday Socials is a friendly, relaxed, collective who meet monthly at Cubitt Gallery to make with an artist or two. Experimenting with the unknown. It is a fluid world. There is always tea, coffee, biscuits and sometimes there are eggs, pegs, honesty and oranges (HOPE). Be prepared to eat your works! Saturday Socials is a programme of monthly workshops for over 55s led by visual artist Lucy Steggals and supported by Cubitt’s Community Projects Curator Harri Harrison. We meet at Cubitt Gallery once a month to share creativity, ideas, connection and warmth. What to expect Doors are open from 10:50 and we start the workshop with hot drinks and biscuits. We have up to 14 participants and meet in our cosy community space Studio 5 - the group is very friendly and new people are always welcome. The workshops are very playful and no prior creative experience is necessary. We play with different materials and techniques in each workshop. Activities might include, assembling materials, making sculptures, drawing and painting, and group storytelling. All activities are optional! Activities are codesigned by the Saturday Socials group.
